David Austin English Rose ‘Eustacia Vye’ is exceedingly pretty, with intensely fragrant flowers in a glowing mid pink with a touch of apricot. The flowers are attractively held on red-tinged stems. The lovely blooms begin as shallow cups that open to full rosettes packed with delicately ruffled petals. The petal color is initially a richer hue, which gradually pales over time. The blooms, with about 90 petals each, have a strong, deliciously fruity fragrance. This is an exceptionally healthy variety that forms a vigorous shrub with bushy, upright growth. It flowers abundantly, with repeat bloom from early summer through fall. Named after the sensual, exotic beauty and flawed heroine of English novelist Thomas Hardy’s The Return of the Native (1878).

David Austin English Rose ‘Gabriel Oak’ has magnificent, many-petalled rosette blooms in a striking shade of deep pink — with a voluptuous flower form very much in the style of the famed Old Roses. The flowers are large, each with about 125 petals, and over time, the outer petals pale slightly in a charming affect. There is a wonderful strong, fruity fragrance. The shrub is broad, rounded and shapely, with mulberry purple stems and dark green foliage that further enhance the deep pink flowers. ‘Gabriel Oak’ delivers stellar repeat bloom, flowering with abandon from early summer through fall. Named after the beloved character of English novelist Thomas Hardy’s Far from the Madding Crowd (1874).
