April 1 — May 15:
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — This spring in Bridgeport -- early April through mid-May – come watch the season unfold in flowers, as 40,000 snowdrops, crocus, daffodils, tulips, alliums and other bulbs bloom at Colorblends House & Spring Garden at 893 Clinton Avenue.
For gardeners, garden strollers and landscape professionals, Colorblends House & Spring Garden offers a charming setting where design ideas and creative bulb blends abound. All bulb flowers and blends are identified. The intimate, half-acre spring bulb garden and adjacent 1903 Colonial Revival house are open to the public for six weeks each spring. The property is located in Bridgeport’s Stratfield Historic District just off The King’s Highway/Route 1. Street parking is plentiful.
What’s in bloom depends on seasonal weather. To follow the progress of what’s blooming in the garden, visit the Colorblends House website or follow on Facebook. The garden is a collaboration between the Bridgeport-based Colorblends Wholesale Flowerbulbs and famed Dutch designer Jacqueline van der Kloet.
Garden hours: open daily 8 am to 8 pm. Cost: Free for the garden. To tour the house and annual pop-up gallery showcasing local artists and artisans, suggested donation is $3, or $10 for groups of 4 or more.Download Word Version of Calendar Listing
